What is your cancellation policy for horseback riding appointments?Cancel 7+ days before your activity? You get a full refund. Cancel within 7 days? No refund unless you have Trip Cancellation Protection. Trip Cancellation Protection ($15/ticket) lets you cancel up to 24 hours before your activity and get a refund minus the fee. Weather issues? You can reschedule for free or get a full refund. Reschedule Policy 24 Hours or More: You can reschedule your ride at no charge if you contact us at least 24 hours in advance. Less Than 24 Hours: Rescheduling within 24 hours of your ride will result in forfeiture of your booking amount.

What is your weather policy?Weather Policy Severe Weather: We will cancel or postpone rides if there is lightning, severe storms, flash flooding, or very high winds. If this happens, you can choose to reschedule or receive a full refund. Light Rain: Rides will continue in light rain or drizzle. We recommend wearing rain gear and appropriate footwear. For your comfort, we provide rain slickers in these conditions. Communication: If the weather is uncertain, we will contact you at least 2 hours before your ride to confirm, reschedule, or cancel. What is the age limit for the trail rides?7 and up for a 90 minute ride. 10 and up for a sunset ride

Can I ride with my child on the same horse?For safety reasons, each rider must have their own horse.

Is there a restroom available?Yes, we have restrooms available at the barn/check-in area.

Do you offer picnic spots?Yes! Our scenic picnic areas by the Brazos River are available for use before or after your ride. Please let us know if you’d like to reserve a spot.

Can we book a ride for a corporate retreat?Absolutely! We offer customizable group experiences for corporate events, team-building activities, and retreats.

Do you host weddings or group gatherings?Yes, our pavilion may be a good spot for your event. Check it out here

What group size can you accommodate?We can accommodate groups of up to around 16 riders per tour. For larger groups, we can arrange staggered rides or custom experiences.

How early should I arrive?Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled ride to allow time for check-in and preparation.

Is parking available?Yes, we offer free on-site parking with plenty of space for guests. There is enough room to park an RV.

What if I’m running late?If you’re running late, please call us as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to accommodate you, but late arrivals may result in a shortened or forfeited ride.

Can I bring a guest who isn’t riding?Yes, non-riding guests are welcome to hang out at the ranch. There is seating on a covered patio, or they are welcome to wait in an air-conditioned room at the barn.

How fast do we ride? (Walk, trot, canter)Our standard trail rides are primarily at a walking pace to enjoy the scenery and ensure safety. Depending on the group’s experience level and the trail, there may be opportunities for trotting. Refer to our different private ride options.

What should I wear?We recommend wearing long pants. Closed-toe shoes are required. Avoid loose, flowing clothing that may get caught.

What should I bring on the ride?The less the better. Our saddles are outfitted with saddle bags, large enough to hold a water bottle, your keys, phone and other small items if you choose to bring them. For safety, body-strapped bags are not permitted.

Is horseback riding safe for beginners?Most of our rides are designed with beginners in mind. Our experienced guides will match you with a horse that fits your skill level and help you feel confident before hitting the trail. No horseback riding is “safe” due to the nature of the activity.

Do I have to wear a helmet?Helmets are recommended for all riders and required for riders under 18.

Are helmets provided?Yes, we provide helmets free of charge.

What if I’m nervous or scared of horses?Our guides are experienced in working with first-time riders and will take extra care to make you feel comfortable. We’ll start with an introduction to your horse and help you gain confidence.

Can pregnant guests ride?For safety reasons, we don’t allow pregnant riders.

What if I have health issues (e.g., back pain)?If you have any health concerns, we recommend consulting your doctor before riding. Let us know about any issues, and we’ll determine if we are able to accommodate you.

Do you accommodate riders with disabilities?The safety and comfort of our guests are our top priorities. Due to the physical demands and nature of horseback riding, we are unable to accommodate individuals with certain physical or mental disabilities. While we would love for everyone to experience the joy of riding, we want to ensure the experience is safe and enjoyable for all participants. If you’re unsure whether our rides are suitable, feel free to reach out, and we’ll be happy to discuss your needs and recommend alternative activities.

Can I bring my dog?While we love dogs, we ask that you leave your furry friends at home for safety reasons during the ride.

How many people can stay at Brazos Bluffs Ranch?We have two homes for nightly rental on the ranch about 3/4 of a mile apart from each other. One is a log home 1/4 mile from the Brazos River that sleeps up to 6. The other is a small one-bedroom cabin with one queen bed.

Can we bring bikes to the ranch?Bikes are not allowed because of the high risk involved with using bikes on the same trails as the horses.

What kind of fish are in the River?Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Bluegill, Carp.
